Information Stored Locally
FlashNews stores the following information on your device only:
- Reading Preferences: Your selected news categories and reading speed settings
- Reading History: Articles you've read and your reading progress
- Saved Articles: Articles you've saved for later reading
This information is stored locally using your device's storage and is not transmitted to our servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
- Browsing history outside the app
- Any information for advertising purposes
News Content
FlashNews fetches news articles from The Guardian's public API. When you browse or read articles, your device connects to our server which then retrieves content from The Guardian. We do not log or store which articles you view on our server.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party service:
- The Guardian API: To provide news content. The Guardian's privacy policy applies to their service.
Data Security
All data stored by FlashNews remains on your device. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is deleted. You can also reset all app data at any time through the Settings menu.
Children's Privacy
FlashNews does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages as it simply displays news content.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
